What is SKIP?
SKIP (Silicon Valley Keio International Program) is an international exchange program designed to foster meaningful interaction between students from Stanford University and Keio University.
The program is organized by the International Relations Association (I.I.R.), an officially designated student welfare organization of Keio University.
Each year, during the summer vacation period of both universities, SKIP welcomes 10–16 students from Stanford University to Japan. The program takes place in early September and runs for approximately two weeks, offering participants an intensive and immersive experience.
We provide oppourtunities like no where else.

SKIP places great emphasis on meaningful dialogue and mutual understanding, aiming to cultivate strong, lasting bonds between students who will shape the future of Japan–U.S. relations.
Beyond Cultural Exchange
SKIP goes beyond simply introducing Japanese culture.
Rather than limiting itself to surface-level exchange, the program focuses on shared challenges faced by Japan and the United States, encouraging participants to think critically about the future of bilateral relations.
Guided by the philosophy of learning through experience, SKIP has taken students to a wide range of locations and settings—allowing them to discover aspects of Japan that cannot be understood from a desk alone.
Past programs have included corporate visits, traditional cultural experiences, and visits to disaster-affected areas, each designed to provide deeper insight into Japan’s society, values, and resilience.
